About Me:

I’m Amanda, and I help people who have been struggling for a while–just like you. People that have it within themselves to not only believe in something better but achieve it but just need the support to get there.

I help my clients find hope, healing, and change by equipping them with the tools and guidance they need to create a deeper understanding of themselves and the circumstances that have brought them here and move beyond being stuck.

Many of today’s solutions for eating disorders and trauma prioritize the end goal above all else, leading so many people to feel that not seeing immediate change or behavior interruption as a sign that they aren’t able to recover or that they are doing something wrong. I know that your circumstances are unique. With me, every step of your treatment journey is built to meet you where you’re at and provide you with the foundational skills needed to create long-term lasting recovery and relief.

In therapy with me, we start with identifying the pain point that is causing you the most distress and focus on improving awareness and understanding of the patterns in our thinking and behaviors. Then, we integrate learning effective, adaptive skills and begin applying them in the here and now.

Through our work together, you’ll finally know how to manage your symptoms effectively in the moment and will have a changed relationship with yourself and your mental health.

My Approach

At the core of my approach to therapy is the belief that when we embrace uncertainty and focus more on awareness and understanding, we unlock the power to change our lives.

Authentic.

I believe that my clients and I are partners on this road to recovery and healing. I don’t make promises I can’t keep, I meet you where you are at, and I bring my whole self into our therapeutic relationship. In our work together, I am a genuine, authentic, real human being.

Therapy With Me Is:

Intentional.

When I say something, I mean it. I believe that one of the best things we can learn from therapy is how to be more intentional, effective, and engaged in your own life. From the way I structure sessions, to the words I say, and the topics we discuss, I aim to practice what I preach.

My Specialties.

Direct.

Both brutal honesty and sugarcoating the truth can be harmful to the growth process. I believe in pairing directness with kindness when it comes to engaging with areas of improvement. Feedback is helpful, and I don’t think it needs to hurt to be helpful.

I am dedicated to helping people take their lives back from their disorders.

My training in eating disorders and trauma means I have the expertise you need and deserve when working towards recovery. But at the end of the day, you want to know you’re working with someone who ‘gets’ what it means to be stuck in a pattern of surviving in the here and now, right?

I know that fighting to feel different is more painful when you’re up against your own body, brain, and self.  So when we work together, you won’t just get a therapist. You’ll get someone who truly understands what you’re going through. Together we’ll walk the path forward towards full recovery.
