Ways to Pay for Care
At Marrow & Moss, we believe in complete financial transparency. Whether you are using insurance or paying privately, we work with you up front so there are never any unexpected surprises on your billing statement.
Insurance Coverage:
We are proud to be in-network with several major insurance providers to make specialized mental health care accessible. We currently accept:
Aetna
Cigna
Kaiser Permanente
UnitedHealthcare (UHC)
Colorado Medicaid (Health First Colorado)
Verification of Benefits
Insurance plans can vary widely in their coverage for mental health services, copays, and deductibles. Prior to your first appointment, our administrative team will help verify your benefits so you know exactly what to expect out-of-pocket.
Private Pay:
If you are uninsured, covered by a provider not listed above, or prefer to pay out-of-pocket, we offer direct private-pay rates.
Why Choose Private Pay?
Many clients prefer paying out-of-pocket to maintain full control over their care. Private pay allows us to:
Protect your utmost privacy (no required clinical diagnosis submitted to insurance databases).
Provide tailored treatment plans without strict limitations on session count or duration.
Focus purely on your goals rather than insurance company mandates
Using Out-of-Network (OON) Benefits & Superbills
If you have a PPO or out-of-network benefits through another insurer, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement for our services.
How it works: You pay for your session at the time of service. At the end of each month, we provide you with a detailed statement called a Superbill.
Submitting to insurance: You can submit this Superbill directly to your insurance company for potential reimbursement based on your plan’s out-of-network coverage.
HSA / FSA Cards: We accept Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards for all sessions and services.
FAQs
-
We are in-network with Aetna, Cigna, Kaiser Permanente, UnitedHealthcare (UHC), and Colorado Medicaid (Health First Colorado). If you are covered by one of these plans, we bill your insurance directly, and you are only responsible for your plan’s designated copay, coinsurance, or deductible. Before your first session, our team verifies your specific mental health benefits so you know your exact out-of-pocket costs up front.
-
If you have a PPO insurance plan with a provider we are not in-network with, you may still be eligible for partial reimbursement through your Out-of-Network (OON) benefits. You pay the full private-pay session rate at the time of service, and at the end of each month, we provide you with an itemized statement called a Superbill. You can submit this Superbill directly to your insurance company or through a reimbursement app for potential repayment based on your plan's OON coverage.
-
Yes! Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) can be used to pay for all eligible outpatient mental health services at Marrow & Moss—including individual therapy, specialized meal support, behavior check-ins, and group therapy sessions. You can use your HSA/FSA debit card directly in our secure, HIPAA-compliant client portal.
-
If your insurance plan has an unmet deductible for mental health services, you will pay the insurance company’s contracted allowable rate out-of-pocket for your sessions until your deductible is satisfied. Once your deductible is met for the year, your coverage kicks in, and you will transition to paying only your standard copay or coinsurance amount per session.
-
While using insurance makes care accessible, many clients choose private pay (out-of-pocket) for enhanced privacy and clinical autonomy. Paying privately means your treatment history and therapy notes are never shared with an insurance database, no formal psychiatric diagnosis is required for your medical record, and your therapist has the freedom to tailor session frequency and duration strictly to your clinical needs rather than insurance company mandates.
